Causes: inflammation around follicles called “Hot tub” Folliculitis. Produces pigments of Yellow, green, blue, light purple Produces slime Survives in water a Long time a common reservoir. Seen: cystic fibrosis, diabetic and burn patients.

Vectored by the “Kissing bug” by mechanical transmission. Parasite ends up in the heart muscle. Then ends up weakening the heart by breaking down the tissue. Myocarditis Leading cause of heart transplant in Mexico.

Confused macrophage in the skin Has waxy mycolic acid 3-4 years after infection causes skin lesion Causes sluffing off of tissue
