what is anxiety?
- a response to a threat.
- not directed at an identifiable source
- doesn’t motivate a specific coping response
how does PTSD arise?
- from the experience(s) of extreme danger that elicits intense fright or terror (trauma, accident, etc.)
- difficult to turn off because we can’t “un-do” the trauma
