- How do you create a NEW record using a BUTTON?

- What are some common RECORD actions?

- How would you put an OBVIOUS “SAVE” BUTTON on a layout and why?
COMMIT RECORD/REQUEST. This action is just like clicking out of the record. It is useful if you have the layout set to show a DO YOU WANT TO SAVE message whenever someone edits the record, you can add a SAVE button to the layout.
- What is the PERFORM WITHOUT DIALOG option often found in the OPTIONS section of the BUTTON SET UP dialog box?
It tells FM To PERFORM THE ACTION WITHOUT asking “If you are SURE you want to do this?”
- If you have certain FINDS that you perform a lot, you can:
Create a BUTTON to run them directly, using PERFORM FIND, CONSTRAIN FOUND SET, and EXTEND FOUND SET to get the job done.
- How do you program a BUTTON to perform a FIND?
a. Perform the FIND you want.
b. Add the button to the layout and pick one of the FIND ACTIONS.
c. Turn on SPECIFY FIND REQUESTS, which brigs up a dialog box
