Filemaker Pro 9 29 Flashcards
- p 231. When you choose DROP DOWN CALENDAR, how do you know it is there when in BROWSE MODE?
You have to choose INCLUDE ICON TO SHOW AND HIDE CALENDAR.
- Like the SHOW/HIDE ARROW on DROPDOWN LISTS, the CALENDAR ICON shows up on an INACTIVE FIELD ONLY IF:
The field has a BORDER. At the very least, you need a RIGHT BORDER to force the ICON to appear.
- What is the AUTO COMPLETE option?
It tries to figure out what you want to enter, using the FIELD’S INDEX.
- AUTO COMPLETE is NOT a CONTROL STYLE, rather, you use it in conjunction with:
an EDIT BOX or a DROP DOWN LIST. IT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR OTHER STYLES.
It behaves differently on EDIT BOXES than it does in DROP DOWN LISTS.
- AUTO COMPLETE IN EDIT BOXES. When you choose AUTO COMPLETE USING PREVIOUSLY ENTERED VALUES, FileMaker scans the…
FIELD’S INDEX and drops down an list of matching entries. THERE IS NO VALUE LIST IN THIS CASE.
- If you have a DROP DOWN LIST, then your option is:
AUTO COMPLETE USING VALUE LIST.
Note that it uses the values of the ASSOCIATED VALUE LIST, and as you begin to type, FileMaker narrows the list to include only what you’ve started typing.
- If you format the DROP DOWN LIST with the SHOW/HIDE arrow, you can’t see the list until:
you CLICK THE ARROW or PRESS THE ESCAPE KEY.
- Where are REPEATING FIELDS explained? Remember that this is an outdated option and you’d rather not use it.
