  1. What are the differences between MERGE FIELDS and SLDING?
A

a. MERGE FIELDS work on ALL MODES, SLIDING OBJECTS only work in PREVIEW MODE.
b. Any OBJECT on a layout can SLIDE, but there’s not way to incorporate pictures into MERGE FIELDS.
c. In BROWSE MODE, you can ENTER and EDIT data in SLIDING FIELDS, but NOT in MERGE FIELDS (They are only for display).

There’s no reason to. SELECT ALL THE FIELDS that will slide FIRST, THEN to to the SET SLIDING/PRINTING dialog box.

turn on ALSO REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE ENCLOSING PART, and the PART the OBJECT is on SHRINKS TO FIT ITS CONTENTS.

The setting for ALSO REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE ENCLOSING PART only applies to the LOWEST OBJECT on the PART.
