Fight or Flight
Define
Evolutonary survival mechanism in response to a threat, when the threat passses the body will retun to homeostasis.
Acute stress
Define
Stress that is in response to immediate pressures, can be good as it will make you focus and give u energy but will exaughust you if its maintained
Chronic stress
Define
Long term form of stress in response to prolonged emotional pressure- occurs in situation where you feel unable to control (Bills, Meetings or Exams)
The role of Adrenaline
Increase of blood flow to the brain and muscles for quicker thinking and reaction time
decrease in blood flow to non time critical systems like digestive and immune system.
Dilated pupuls for better vision, breathing rate increased for more oxygen in blood.
increasing Anxiety attention and alertness.

Stages
You firstly recognise the stress you will enter a stress response which activates ANS (sympathetic) and endocirne system.
The endocrine system will then activate the pituitary gland which will release cortosil.
The autonomic nervous system will make the body release Adrenaline from the adrenal gland
