Hypothesis: The titanic Quarter’s redevelopment has created homogenous Belfast.
P: positive attitudes
E: same potential for redevelopment/ affluence
S: lived experiences
Re-development enquiry methods
RICEPOTS tally
Potential for redevelopment ranking
Building decay tally
RICEPOTS tally info (Belfast)
RICEPOTS: Used to tally up and estimate land uses and how they vary
Pros:
- Data was quantitative
- Some were easy to tally
- Could compare it to other quarters to see development
Cons:
- Some fit into multiple categories
- Hard to estimate % where tallies were not possible
Potential for redevelopment ranking Building
Potential for re-development ranking Building: Ranked areas from 1-7 using criteria on the quality/quantity of RICEPOTS
Pros:
- Broad range of criteria
- Allowed us to see **potential for change
- Quantitative
Cons:
- Subjective
- Hard to correlate number to rank
Building decay tally (Belfast/ Derry)
Building decay: tallied up the visible signs up of different measures of physical deprivation
Pros:
- Quantitative
- Objective
- Comparisons
Cons:
- Some deprivation could not be seen
- Some are too much to count
- Time

Safety rank: RAG-rated Derry areas to see safety and level of deprivation
Pros:
- Easy to do
- Comparable
Cons:
- Subjective
- May vary over time
Accesibility rank
Potential for re-development ranking Building: Ranked areas from 1-7 using criteria on the quality/quantity of accessibility through public services etc
Pros:
- Broad range of criteria
- Allowed us to see **potential for change
- Quantitative
Cons:
- Subjective
- Hard to correlate num
Questionnaire of perceptions (Place check in Derry)
Questionnaire: surveyed locals of different ages randomly in our transects to gain their opinions on Dery
Pros:
- Gained a wide range of opinions from different demographics
- Understood perceptions of a place and desirability
