to assist with infertility, breed animals with the different traits and genetically modify food
what are different types of reproduction technologies?
IVF, surrogacy and artificial incrementation
what is IVF?
IVF is invertro fertilization and is when sperm and a egg is combined in a pertri dish and left to grow then injected into the vagina.
what is surrogacy?
is when a sperm and an egg is planted into another women who will carry the baby.
what is artificial insemination?
when a sperm is injected into a females uterus.
what is the disadvantage of surrogacy?
cheating can take place
what percentage of IVF efficient?
40% in a young women and 12 to 6 % in an older women
what is an infertility?
when sperm and ovary are not healthy and some reproductive orangs are damaged
what are diseases caused by infertility?
miscarriage and inflammation in ovaries
what is fertilization?
process of female and male gamete joining and when a sperm fertilizes when an egg.
what is a hermaphrodites?
flatworm having both female and male parts
what are the types of fertilization?
internal and external
what is external fertilization?
occurs outside the females body and mostly used by animals in water.
what are example of animals that use external fertilization?
shark, frog and fish
what is internal fertilization?
occurs inside the females body and mostly used by animals on land.
what are example of animals that use internal fertilization?
lion and dog, and whale
what is the process of fertilization?
1- One a month an ovary releases an egg and passes into the fallopian tube and into the uterus and induced into the vagina
2- 400 million sperms are releases into the vagina
3- After 10 hours sperm enters cervix.
4- After 24 hours 6,000 sperm have made to the fallopian tube.
5- After 30 hours 400 sperm will meet the egg and one the sperm meets the egg it will start breaking into the egg and ONLY ONE SPERM WILL FERTILIZE THE EGG
