Fines of no more than $10,000 instead of or in addition to license suspension, or in addition to license revocation may be imposed:
- following a hearing in which the board determines that code violations have occurred
- if a licensee waives the right to a hearing and the board determines that code violations have occurred

- willful failure or obstruction of filing one’s own or another’s required reports
- submission of a false statement to collect a fee
- use or promotion of misleading, deceiving, advertising materials or testimonials

- fraudulent or deceptive obtaining or use of a license for oneself or another
- aiding an unauthorized person in practicing psychology or representing oneself to be a psychologist
- professional incompetence
- willful disregard of impairments that render the licensee incompetent
- sale of items for exploitation of patients
- discrimination against HIV+ persons
- failure to cooperate with lawful investigations of the board
