Q

functions of feedback?

A

MRI
-Motivate performer to change future performance, for improvement
-Reinforce good things about performance
-Inform about any errors or things that need to be corrected

Q

what is intrinsic feedback?

A

Intrinsic feedback
* from within the performer from sense organs within the body
* 3 types of intrinsic feedback: (kinaesthetic, touch, equilibrium)
* automomous performers have more accurate and reliable intrinsic feedback

Q

what is extrinsic feedback?

A

feedback external from the performer
- from a coach
- helps performer gain a **veiw of what they need to improve on **
- it can be tangible (facts, figures, trophy) or non-tangible (advice, motivation) which will improve intrinsic feedback.

TWO MORE TYPES OF FEEDBACK WHICH ARE EXTRINSIC ARE :

-knowledge of results (tangible and terminal feedback)- information about the end result, gives indication to performer wether the skill was successful

  • knowledge of performance (intrinsic or extrinsic and non-tangible) - how WELL the responce was performed NOT the end result. Looks at why shots went out and is looking at technique and how to improve more than the outcome.

Q

whats positive feedback

Q

whats negative feedback?

A

information about non-successful performances, causing a change to become more successful later.
- better for more experienced players as it clearly tells them which aspects need to be worked on.
- extrinsic

Q

which feedback methods should be used for each stages of learning (cognitive, associative, autonomous)?

A

cognitive :
-EXTRINSIC feedback (knowledge of results, simple information and positive feedback)
associative :
- external and internal and knowledge of performance to form good habits
autonomous :
-INTRINSIC feedback (kinaesthetic) specific information, detailed, negative/critical
