What are the 4 main categories of faults?
Critical Fault
Serious Fault
Maintenance Fault
Remarshalled Fault
What happens when there is a Critical Fault?
Train is knocked out of service
Remove from service ASAP
Don’t put into service
What happens when there is a Serious Fault?
What are the 4 Serious Categories?
Integrity or Safety not affected so train can stay in service.
Serious - Can run but must be fixed once shunted
Serious Priority - Removed from service ASAP
Serious return run - Can return because other end cab is not affected
Serious end run - Has to finish at the end of it’s run because the fault is at driving end.
What happens when there is a Maintenance Fault?
Will be reviews within 24 hours
Planned to be rectified within 14 days
May be reallocated to be rectified in 90 days
What is a Rectified in Running Fault?
Rectified whilst in running without assistance of maintenance staff.
Remove any TMMs
What do you transmit to TC when sending a TMM (5) ?
TDN
