Fatigue is the state of feeling tired, weary, or
sleepy that results from prolonged mental or
physical work, extended periods of anxiety,
exposure to harsh environments, or loss of
sleep.

What is acute fatigue?

A

Occurs between 2 sleep periods.
Cured with one good sleep period.
(DIENILL)
• Distractibility.
• Inattention.
• Errors in timing.
• Neglect of secondary tasks.
• Irritability.
• Loss of accuracy and control.
• Lack of awareness of error accumulation.

What is chronic fatigue?

A

Successive acute cycles. May
take weeks of recovery. (SLIPWIPD)
• Slow reaction time.
• Loss of appetite.
• Insomnia.
• Poor judgment.
• Weight loss.
• Irritability.
• Poor motivation and performance on job.
• Depressed mood.
