what two enzymes are used during lypolysis
A
hormone sensitive lipase: converts TG to glycerol and 3 FA
lipoprotein lipase: converts glycerol and 3 FAs to TG (during rest)

what happens to the glycerol once TG is broken down
A
- goes into glycolysis during phase 2 -> CAC -> ETC
- creates 19 ATP

what happesn to FA after TG is broken
A
- transported into mitochondria
- goes thru beta oxidation -> acetyl Co-A -> CAC -> ETC
- produce 147 ATP

why cant we use fat alone for metabolism
A
- acetyl Co-A binds with OAA
- OAA regenerated using CHO via pyruvate carboxylase
