Fascia Flashcards
Endothoracic Fascia (Location, Analogs/Continuity)
Separates intercostal muscles from pleura; equivalent to transversalis fascia of abdomen
Two Components of Superficial Abdominal Fascia
Superficial fatty layer (Camper’s fascia), Deep membranous layer (Scarpa’s fascia)
Transversals fascia (Location, Analogs/Continuity)
Between the transversus abdominis muscle and the exztraperitoneal fat; Continuous with pelvic fascia
External spermatic fascia (Location, Analogs/Continuity)
Most superficial outer layer of spermatic cord; continuous with the aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle
Internal spermatic fascia (Location, Analogs/Continuity)
Deepest outer layer of spermatic cord; continuous with the transversalis fascia
Cremasteric fascia (Location, Analogs/Continuity)
Middle outer layer of spermatic cord; continuous with the internal oblique muscle
Renal Fasica (Location)
separates the perirenal and pararenal layers of fat surrounding the kidney
Superficial fascia of Penis, Scrotum (Analogs)
continuous with Scarpa’s fascia of the anterior abdominal wall and the superficial perineal fascia (Colle’s fascia)
Deep Penile Fascia (Location)
surrounds the corpus spongiosum and the corpora cavernosum
Perineal fascia (Location, Analogs)
defines the superficial boundary of the superficial perineal space (pouch); continuous with the superficial fascia of the penis and scrotum
Deep perineal fascia (Location)
investing fascia of the bulbospongiosus, uschiocavernosus and superficial transverse perineal muscles
Obturator fascia (Location)
covers the pelvic surface of the obturator internus muscle
Tendinous arch
attachment for the levator ani muscle on the obturator fascia
Inferior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm (Location)
covers the inferior surface of the levator ani and coccygeus muscles
Superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm (Location)
covers the superior surface of the levator ani and coccygeus muscles
