A

For:
− Hoof cracks
− Frog support
− Frog pressure
− Laminitis
-> Have to fit with x-ray for laminitis cases
–> need to know the distance between P3 and frog to prevent pinching, occluded blood vessels

A

− Lateral support

For:
− Poor conformation
− ALD
-> can pul the limbs apart and straighten them in foals
− Rotational
− Foals

Graduated shoe (what it does and conditions it’s used for)

A

− Heel elevation
− Alters angle of
* Dorsal wall
* HPA
* DIP joint

For:
− Poor conformation
− Broken forward HPA
− DDFT strain/injury

Good for the short term.
Longer term the foot can deteriorate and they can put a strain on the SDFT.
