When making a plan for the FLO what should be considered?
- The selection of the FLO and criteria employed for the selection

Identifying who is family
- this includes, parents, siblings,children guardian, whanau and anyone close to them
- this includes chosen family
- Should reflect victims cultural and lifestyle beliefs.
If a family is large what should the FLO consider
Appointing a spokes person for the family who will then become the point of contact for the family.
Discuss what a FLO should do if the suspect is a family member
- Limit the information to FLO or if given make sure this is not passed onto the family.
- Fully document every contact with the family and who is rpesent.
- Not using the FLO for an arrest or search involving a family member
- Investigative and evidential impact
- consider there safety if suspect present and consider deploying a deputy FLO.
What should an FLO ask the OC investigation before approaching the family of the deceased.
- the parameters on the information to be shared to the family.

- Establish what information has been given to the family
- Establish what has been released to the media

- the programs and agenices out there to support them as they are victims in there own right

People
-Friends, colleagues, partners, associates, online social media, movements and regular travel, bobbies and habits, cultural beliefs
Passive info
NIA, medical records, HSMU, vehicle detail, banking details, photos, videos of deceased passport and immigration info
What should the FLO do in relation to media which family
- Not comment to any media
- Establish families view on any media appeals
- inform them of the potential media attention and how they want to
- Liaise with the family before any release of information to the media and get their views.
- Request permission from the victims family before any release of images of the victim
- Provide copies of media releases to family.
