Appeal to tradition
any argument that says we should believe or do something just because some group has believed or done it for a long time
Post hoc ergo propter hoc
After this, therefore because of this.
False dilemma
any argument that states that there are only two options and that you can only choose one, when that is not really the case
Personal attack
attacks the person making an argument instead of the argument itself
Hasty generalization
a logical fallacy that occurs when someone makes a broad conclusion about a group based on insufficient evidence
Appeal to popularity
when someone claims something is true because many people believe it
Straw man
someone misrepresents an opponent’s argument and then refutes that misrepresentation
Slippery slope
