Hadith of Jibril AS
This hadith, narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab, describes Angel Jibril visiting the Prophet ﷺ in the form of a man to teach key aspects of Islam through questioning.
He asked about:
Islam (Practice) – The five pillars: faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage.
Iman (Faith) – Belief in Allah, His angels, books, messengers, the Last Day, and divine destiny.
Ihsan (Spiritual Excellence) – Worshipping Allah as if one sees Him.
The Hour (Day of Judgment) – Its exact time is unknown, but signs include social changes and material competition.
The Prophet ﷺ later revealed that the questioner was Jibril, teaching the Companions about their religion.
This hadith outlines four key areas of Islamic knowledge: beliefs, practices, character, and the Final Hour.

What is a miracle?
- An extraordinary act that goes against science + nature - not sorcery, magic or trickery
- The messengers sometimes performed miracles to prove their truth of the claim of prophethood
- They occur with Allah’s will and in his name
- If a nation asked for a miracle, were given one + still denied then they would be faced with the wrath of Allah

What in intercession + how will the prophet SAW be involved
Intercession is the act of getting involved in another person’s case got benefit them in some way.
On the day of judgement nobody will help each other.
However SAW will be given special permission to intercede - it is known as the praised platform (Al-Maqam Al-Mahmud)
Ten types of intercession from SAW
- To get the judgment started
- For certain righteous believers to enter Jannah without reckoning
- To save sinful believers sentenced to hell by getting them pardoned
- To free sinful believers from hell
- To reduce punishment of sinful believers who could not be freed from hell
- To get the people who’s good and bad deeds are equal into Jannah
- To increase reward/status of the successful believers
- For the people of the city of Madinah
- For those who visited his grave
- To open up the gates of Jannah

- The world will no longer worship Allah and Allah will instruct Israfil to blow the trumpet
