How did the Duma setting up an alternative parliament lead to the Tsars abdication?

A

At the end of the February Revolution the Duma set up a 12-man provisional government in the Tsars absence against his wishes of the Duma to dissolve.
-They forced the Tsar to step down and abdicate his crown and convinced the Grand Duke Michail not to take the crown, ending the Tsars regime.

How did the mutiny in the army lead to the Tsar abdication?

A

The lack of support of the army to the Tsar decreased his power and ability to control the protesters, such as when the Volynskii regiment mutinied, adding 66,000 soldiers and 40,000 guns to the protesters in Monday 27th February.
This is in contrast to the 1905 Revolution where the soldiers supported the Tsar

It showed that a workers government could function and be a viable alternative to the aristocrats or monarchy. They organised food supplies and wanted more equal laws like banning military honorary titles and off duty soldiers all citizen rights
