Anterior segment:
in front of the eye lense
Sclera:
white-outer layer of eyes
Cornea:
Transparent, anterior portion of eyes
overlies pupil, iris
Limbus:
boarder b/w the sclera & cornea
Iris:
circular disk of smooth muscle
pigment determines eye color
Pupil:
Central-part, hole draws in light into Iris
pupil size is controlled by the contraction/relaxation of IRIS
Anterior Chamber:
cavity bound by CORNEA in front, IRIS/lens behind
Aqueous Humor- clear fluid w/in anterior & posterior chambers
Lens:
clear disk of transparent fibers
behind the IRIS & PUPIL
refracts/focuses light on retina
Cillariy body- smooth muscles attaches the lens by the suspensory ligaments, controls lens thickness
Posterior Chamber:
space behind the iris, in front of the lens
filled with aqeous humor
