Parents should:
1. Cope with the teen’s need for closeness and distance.
2. Monitor teen behavior and give guidance as needed.
3. Begin to give freedom to the teen.
Early Episode Memories
- Infants and toddlers do not have the thinking or language skills to have memories of personal events.
- Children must have a sense of self and personal identity for life experiences to feel real.
