Q

60/60 rules

A

Favorable -runway you’d prefer
Suitable- accounts for winds

Cannot dispatch unless you can land in at least 60% of favorable.

Use favorable runway. But if you can’t because of something like closure or winds you switch to suitable runway.

If you can’t land within 60 percent of your suitable runway then you need an alternate where you can land within 60 percent of favorable and suitable

A

Blalanced field length. Accel stop/go is equal

Unbalanced is not equal

20
Q

Takeoff and go around psi

A

May go into 34-48psi for takeoffs and go around

21
Q

Oil pressure on start note

A

Psi may exceed 110psi if engine oil temperature is below 21c. Must remain idle until psi below 110

22
Q

Note on IPS

A

Engine may be up to 2.5ips in takeoffs and go around for 5 minutes.

10 seconds in all other phases of flight

23
Q

Engine warmup

A

Before takeoff,

To go above 83 n2
Oil must be above 40c
In lieu of this remain idle for 8 mins and ensure oil temp above 21c

24
Q

Crosswind limits

A

Dry/wet 30kts
Compacted snow 25kts
Standing water/slush 20 kts

Q

28
Q

Why must you pitch trim before 160?

A

Because once you get too fast the pitch trim motors can’t overcome the aerodynamic forces

29
Q

How is the elevator heated?

A

Air from number one bleed air routed up to leading edge of horizontal stabilizer. Vented out back through elevator

30
Q

When do ground spoilers deploy

A

25kts wheel speed low tla

31
Q

Bagg light but no bag smoke eicas

A

Light tied directly to fan. If fan turns off light turns on.

Bagg smoke message is separate and comes directly from eicas

32
Q

Tabs on elevator

A

4 of them

Outboard servo tabs
Inboard spring tabs

Spring tabs only work at high air speeds

They reduce the amount of force required to move the elevator
