What are the top chambers of the heart called?
Atrium.
What are the bottom chambers of the heart called?
Ventricle.
What are the tendons?
On the edge of chambers and stop valves turning inside out.
What is the septum?
Completely separates the two sides of the heart.
What do the valves in the heart do?
When certain parts of the heart contract, valves close to stop blood flowing the wrong way.
What is different about the wall of the left ventricle?
It contains more muscle than the right and is thicker as it has to pump blood further and against more pressure
Where does the blood flow into?
The two atria, which then contract pushing blood into the ventricles.
What does the aorta do?
Pump blood to the rest of the body
Inferior vena cava?
Brings blood from lower body.
Superior vena cava?
Brings flood from the upper body.
What happens after blood is pushed into the ventricles?
They contract pushing blood out of the heart.
What are the horseshoe tubes in the kidney called and how many is there?
2 and convoluted.
What is the role of ADH?
It is released from the pituitary gland and it changes the permeability of the collecting duct in nepghrons and increases the concentration of the urine.
What does the pulmonary vein do?
Carries oxygenated blood to the left atrium from the lungs.
