The estimation of R.m.m.
A
- Fill a beaker 2/3 of the way full and heat keeping at a constant 95°C
- Cut a piece of aluminium to a size bigger than the mouth of the flask
- Find the mass of the flask + aluminium + rubber band
- Add 3-4 cm3 of propane to the flask and cover with the aluminium foil
- Heat the propane by lowering it into the boiling water using tongs and heat until there is no propane visible
- Take off the heat immediately and measure the temperature exactly
- Let the flask cool and re-weigh the flask to find the mass of the vapor
- Use ATM. Pressure to calculate the number of moles and in turn the R.m.m
