Proposes legislation and uses many tactics to get a bill passed
Prepares the Federal budget
Approves or vetoes legislation

Commander In Chief
exercises supreme command and control over an armed force or a military branch.
Political Party Leader
helps to support those in his party (Republican or Democrat) who are running for office and also by appointing political party members to key position
Judicial leader
Appoints judges to the Federal Courts and the US supreme court
Appoints justices whose views are similar to their own
