President is living symbol of the nation.
Chief Executive
Responsible for enforcing US laws, and being in charge of all the Executive department government officials.
Chief foreign policy maker
Establishes foreign policies and decides how America will react to foreign issues.
Commander in chief
Is in charge of the army, navy, Air Force, and marines.
Chief Legislator
Has a great deal of influence in whicb legislation will be passed
Chief of party
Leader of his political party. Campaigns for others in his party.
Watchdog of the economy
Fight inflation and create a prosperous US economy, and prepares nations budget.

When is the VP elected?
The same time as the president (they are part of the “package”)
Impeachment
To remove an official from office when they have failed at their job
What things must an official be found guilty of to start an impeachment process?
Treason, bribery, high crimes, or misdemeanors.
Where does impeachment start?
The House of Representatives
Where does the impeachment process travel to after the HOR?
The senate. They act as the jury and 2/3 of them must vote to impeach.
