The process of keeping rows/columns visible on screen at all times
Freezing

Indicates where automatic page breaks will occur
Blue Dashed Lines

Print Area
Sequence in which pages are printed; default is top-left section, bottom-left section, top-right section, bottom-right section
Print Order
Structured range that contains refined data organized in a method that increases the capacity to manage
Table
The organization method used to manage multiple data points within a data set (names, grades, contact info, etc.)
Data Structure
Individual piece of data (such as names); each should represent the smallest possible unit of data (First & Last names separated); enables you to manipulate data in a variety of ways for output
Field
A collection of related data about one entity (represented across full row in a table)
Record
Control fill colour of header row & rows of records; can change to certain colour schemes
Table Styles
Displays header row (field names) when checked
Header Row
Displays a total row at the bottom of a table
Total Row
Applies a different format to the first column so that row headings stand out
First Column
Applies a different format to the last column so it stands out (like a grand total)
Last Column
Displays alternate fill/not-filled format
Banded Rows/Columns
A tag or use of a table element (such as field heading) as a reference in a formula
Structured Reference
The use of field headings without row references in a structured formula
Unqualified reference
Structured formula that includes references that include a table name (must be used if you want to use table data in a formula outside of table boundaries)
Fully Qualified Structured Reference
Process of arranging records by the value of one or more fields within a table (not limited to just tables)
Sorting
Sorting Styles:
Text (A - Z or Z - A)
Dates (Oldest - Newest or Newest - Oldest)
Values (Largest - Smallest or Smallest - Largest)
Colour (Cell Colour or Font Colour)
Process of specifying conditions to display only records that meet certain conditions
Filtering (Text, Number, Custom)
Applies special formatting to highlight or emphasize cells that meet certain conditions (sales goal, grades below standard, etc.)
Conditional Formatting
Displays below the last row of records in an Excel Table, enables you to display summary statistics (sum of values)
Total Row
=SUBTOTAL(function_num,ref1…) ; (ref1 = range of cells)
Calculates on aggregate value (totals or averages)

Types of Conditional Formatting
Highlight cells that meet certain conditions (fill colours, font colours, borders)

Apply gradient/solid fill bar which width of part represents the current cells value w/ different colours

Format cells w/ different colours based on relative values of cell
Colour Scale
Symbols/signs that classify data into 3, 4, 5 categories
