- observe injured area, compare bilaterally
- look for swelling/ muscle tone loss

Active ROM test
A
movements athlete does themselves
-pain indicates muscle/lig or bone pain

Passive ROM test
A
movement completed by physician
-pain indicates lig/ bone injury

Resisted ROM test
A
clinician resists movement
- pain indicates muscle injury

5 levels of resisted ROM
A
- Trace- can’t move, muscle cont. palpable
- Poor- patient can move in gravity minimized pos.
- Fair- Can only move against gravity
- Good- can resist against moderate pressure
- Normal- can resist max pressure
