Define accessibility
the degree to which an environment affords use of its resources with respect to an individuals level of function
Define universal design
the design of products and environments to be used by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design
What is the purpose of examining the environment?
to identify design barriers that compromise performance of tasks
to determine patient’s safety and level of function in the environment

patient interview, self report instruments, visual depictions, on site visit
