Describe the similarities and differences between the circulatory system of a fish and an amphibian
A
Similarities
- Both have blood vessels/heart/
- Both have valves in the heart
- No septum to separate oxygenated and deoxygenated blood
Differences
- fishes have capillaries in gills while amphibians have capillaries in lung and skin
- fish have a single circulatory system and amphibians have a (incomplete) double circulatory system
- fish has a 2-chambered heart / amphibian has 3-chambered heart
- amphibians have two atria / fish have one atrium ;
- amphibians have a separate circuit to the, gas exchange surface
- fish have one valve (in heart) / amphibians have three valves (in heart)
