What are the differences between episodes of depression and MDD?

What are the symptoms of MDD
1 sadness, 2 emptiness 3 hopelessness, 4 diminished interest in most activities, 5 weight change more than 5% gain or loss in a month, 6 change in sleeping pattern, 7 anxiety, 8 more irritability, 9 worthlessness,10 diminish capacity to think, 11 suicidal thoughts must have 7 for about 2 weeks
- What is emotional reactivity
the tendency to experience frequent and intense emotional arousal to something that reminded you of the persons death
Prolonged grief disorder
incapacitates people after the death of a loved one. the death must occur about 12 months ago. the person can not move on from their life.

symptoms of prolonged grief disorder 7 symtomps
intense emotional pain, does not improve with time, difficulty integrating emotional numbness, rarely experience happiness, intense loneliness, and intense emotional reactivity
MDD melancholic features
depressive feelings in the morning psychomotor functions are affected, they are very slow they lose weight fast
MDD psychotic features
have hallucinations and delusions it is not that common 10-15 percent of the cases
MDD atypical features
mood reactivity something positive happens and the person smiles. the mood brightens with positive events
MDD catatonic features
very rigid immobile can be caused by trauma
MDD with seasonal pattern
lack of sunshine gets them to be depressed. Must have 2 more episodes in a 2 year time period. Light therapy helps them improve being around the sun elevates the mood
Depressive disorder with peripartum onset
episodes of depression while they are pregnant or the first four weeks after giving birth

the disorder occurs mostly when women are pregnant and not after post peripartum
Persistent depressive disorder
mild form of depression does not experience suicidal thoughts must have episodes for two or more years more days than not
