- no food, alcohol, caffeine or tabcco within 3 hrs of testing
- clients should be rested
- wear clothing that permits free movement
- if ountpatient: may need a ride home

- 12 lead EKG: last 15 sec of each stage
- HR: last 5 sec of each stage

- s/s as observed
- RPE: last 15 secs of each stage

- 12 lead EKG: peak exercise and last 15 sec of 1st min and then every 2 min during recovery
- HR: last 5 sec of each min of recovery
- BP: every 2 min
- RPE: peak exercise

how long should you monitor post exercise
A
- at least 6 mins
- until EKG/ HR and BP return to baselne

1: 1.7speed, 10% grade
2: 2.5 speed, 12% grade
