Promise. That promise is summed up in the idea of blessing: God’s kindness and favor given.

Jesus Christ is the focal point of all human history. It is because he is the agent of God’s blessing.
What is the ultimate, final purpose of God’s actions?
It is the glory of God. All is done for his praise.

There are many types/genre of literature in the Bible – including law, narrative, wisdom, poetry, and prophecy. Each expresses God’s message to us in different ways. Together, they give us a well-rounded understanding of God and His revelation.
What does poetry tap into in us as humans? How does poetry put to music affect us?
In fact, it’s safe to say that for most human beings, they cherish their feelings more than their thoughts. And the grand part of this is that God also feels! He is an emotional being, and He has given us many of the emotions He possesses – joy, grief, love, and contentment, for example. Feelings are an important part of the “grand story” of the Bible.
