** Emergency Starts: Operator Voltage/Frequency controls disabled until unit parallel switch momentarily placed in parallel, signal is reset, and Start/Reset PB pressed.
EDG Local Emergency Start
- List the methods & order of preferance for a local emergency start of the DGs per the EOPs
- Reset Engine Shutdown Relay or Stat Failure Relay by pressing Engine Shutdown Reset PB
- Emergency Start Popout button on Generator Control Panel (Break Glass or remove glass cover).
- Place Master Transfer Switch in LOC/MANUAL then press START
- Manually actuate either air start solenoid.
NK Batteries
- Ratings of each battery
- T/S requirements for DC Sources
- NK11 & 14: 1650 Amps/hour
- NK12 & 13: 900 Amps/hour
- All are rated to supply emergency loads for 200 minutes without chargers.
- Train:

Fuel Oil Storage

- 3.8.3 when associated DG required to be oeprable per 3.8.1/3.8.2
- Fuel Oil > 80,900 in each tank & no accumulated water
- If Fuel Oil 69,800 - 80,900, restore to limit in < 48 hours
- If < 69,800 gal - Immediately declare DG inoperable
- Fuel Oil > 80,900 in each tank & no accumulated water
DG Lube Oil Systems
- Sump level control
- Keep warm temp band
- Control of aux oil pump
- Control of KW heater
- T/S for Lube Oil Storage
- Aux LO tank makes up to engine sump (measured by level control tank) 24.7” - 26” below crankshaft centerline.
- Keep warm maintains 125° - 130°F.
- Aux Oil pump: HS in AUTO or ON - runs continuously unless HS in OFF or emergency shutdown.
- KW heater - Auto when DB < 125 rpm. Will not run unless < 125 rpm and Aux oil pump running.
- T/S 3.8.3 when DG required to be operable per 3.8.1/3.8.2 Lube Oil > 750 gallons.
- If < 750 gallons IMMEDIATELY declare DG Inoperable
DG Starting Air T/S
- 2 Receivers: 435 psig
- 1 Receiver: 610 psig
- > 250 psig in 2 or > 300 psig in 1 will allow a start and the DG does not have to be immediately declard inoperable.
NN Inverters
- Operation of static transfer switch
- What constitutes a train of INVs?
- OTN-NN-00001 Precautions for:
- NN Bus De-Energized
- Powering bus from bypass xfmr
- On loss of DC Supply, will auto swap to bypass transformer. Swap back is manual.
- Train A: NN01 powered from NN11 or NN17* and connected to DC bus NK01 and NK11. *Swing Inv may only be credited for one of two INVs.
- NN Bus de-engergized:
- Single Channel Trip of Reactor Protection System (RPS), leaving plant in 1/3 logic.
- If SR/IR Flux trips not blocked a Rx Trip Signal will be generated.
- 1 UV channel and 1 degraded voltage channel for each LSELS.
- When NN Invertor power from bypass circuit there are several energize to actuate functions not available:
- CTMR Hi-3
- RWST Lo-Lo
- NB Bus UV
