What is the evidence and actions book used for?

A

Written record of the incident, to refresh memory if required to submit evidence to a court. Containing any incidents you feel should be recorded in more detail then a pocketbook entry would provide.

What does the mnemonic STAIRS stand for? in relation to notetaking.

A

-Statements in direct speech
-Times of arrival and departure from scene
-Actions taken
-Information given to interested parties
-Referrals
-Supervisor informed (name and time)

When is an EAB written?

A

Similarly to taking notes in the pocket notebook, they should be written at the time of the incident or as soon after. Any delays should be recorded and reasoned in the notetaking.
