The meta analysis found difference between countries and not between cultures. Urban settings had similar distributions of attachments to western studies, whereas a more rural sample found an over-representation of insecure avoidant

Rothbaum et al. (2000)

A

This study used an Americanised Methodology and thus the continuity hypothesis doesn’t have the same meaning in both America and Japan. Being securely attached have opposite meanings in the 2 cultures and because the study is rooted in American culture
