generate all information - look at the standards, can you ask anyone else, look at the law
prescribe and acquire values - prioritise the facts and look at professional values
generate options - what can you do, what can’t you do, include do nothing
choose an option - make sure you document the option and what should you do, consider the benefits and harms of each
