Tell me about the application to alter at Egale 1&2?
- I received an application to alter which involved installing additional air conditioning units within two of their existing meeting rooms.
- As this was specialised M&E works, I was not competent to advise on this, in accordance with Rule 2, and therefore got a cost undertaking for Building Surveyor and M&E consultants review.
- I ensured my Client was kept informed throughout the process
How did you know you were not competent to advise on the LTA at Egale 1&2?
- By simply reviewing the provided scope of works.
- I understand that in line with Rule 2, members should only undertake work they have the knowledge, skill and expertise to competently do so and therefore I involved building surveyors and M&E consultants to assist
What alterations were requested at Egale 1&2?
Installation of additional AC units in their meeting rooms
Did you inspect following the alterations at Egale 1&2?
Yes I inspected with building surveyors to insure the works had been carried out to the specifications provided
What is Rule 4 and how did it relate to the licence to alterations at Egale 1&2?
- Rule 4 is Members and Firms must treat others and respect and encourage diversity and inclusion.
- typing error and I am aware that Rule 2 is members and firms must maintain their professional competence and ensure that services are provided by competent individuals who have the necessary expertise

- I thanked the Client and advised that it would be shared amongst my team.
- As there was no advantage to me accepting the wine, and it was received openly, it was not constituted as a bribe.
- I advised my Partner and logged the gift on the e-register.
