Valid consent
A
when someone agrees to taking part in the research.
- Tell participants aims of study and what’s involved and allow them o give informed consent
- if all info is given may ruin study as purpose may be ruined

A
Lying to someone about what they aims and objectives are
- have a debreif before and after study.
- in debrief after they could make a decision not wanted by researcher.

Risk of harm
A
when participants are not going to be at risk of harm during research.
- Health and safety checks.
- May only be relevant after study.

Confidentiality
A
Concerned with the safe keeping of the individuals person information.
- shouldnt record names or include info that involves being personally identified
- may not be possible e.g. could be done in a school.

Privacy
A
A persons right to control over their personal information
- Dont study anyone without valid consent unless public place and public behaviour
- no saying what a public place defines as and consists of

Right to withdraw
A
When someone has the right to leave as a participant
