What is psychological egoism?
the view that humans are always motivated by self-interest and selfishness
What is Ethical Egoism?
an ethical view where an action is moral if it results in pleasure for you
What is altruism?
selfless concern for the well-being of others
What is a long-term self interest?
following rules which do not immediately gratify you in order to achieve gratification in the future
What are teleological ethics?
ethics where morality is determined on the outcome of the action
What is a consequentialist theory?
the morality is based by aiming to achieve a consequence befitting of the ethical theory
What is satisfaction?
happiness with an outcome
What is individual ethical egoism?
what is moral is what is good for me
What is universal ethical egoism?
everyone should do what is best for themselves
What is an egotist?
a person who is excessively conceited or absorbed in themselves

a follower of ego ethics, they are not selfish solely for being cruel
What are “spooks”
a concept max stirner believes falsely possesses people to believe they are fulfilling a higher cause, these are usually societal institutions such as church and school.
What is an unwilling egoist?
a person who is possessed by spooks into believing they are fulfilling a higher cause
What is a union of egoists?
a group of egoists that band together to give themselves pleasure through a relationship with another person

a position where the prime consideration is the effects of one’s actions on oneself
