Q

Mental emotional factors: Epilepsy

A
  • excessive emotions (fear, anxiety, fright or shock) and mental states can disturb normal qi movement, inuring viscera and bowels
  • LV and KD injured->generate heat->deplete yin->induce internal wind movemnt
  • SP injured->weak function of transforming fluids-> phlegm accumulation->phlegm, heat and wind -> rebellious qi attacking HT Shen, obscure orifices-> seizures

Q

Epilepsy-Attacking Phases: Yang Seizures-

A

Grand Mal: Heat- phlegm accumulation in Int. organ obstructing brain orifices start up internal movm’t of wind
Tx: Open seizures, restore consiousness, clear heat, transform phlegm, and extinguish wind, stop seizures
Fx: DING XIAN WAN (Arrest Seizure Pill)
