Approaches include among others the following: (PPPAESS)
- Preventive principles
- Precautionary principles
- Polluter Pays principle
- Assessment of risks, hazards and impacts
- Environmental stewardship Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns
- Sustainable development; (Resource conservation and pollution Control)
- Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns
Level for the Implementation of Environmental Management (LNSRI)
-The local,
-National,
- Sub-regional,
- Regional and
- International levels
Players in Environmental Management (GII)
- Government,
- Government institutions; NGOs. CSO, Private sector,

2020.
Concept of Sustainable Development
The Three Pillars for National Development are: (ESE)
- Economic
- Social
- Environment
Key Elements: Cleaner Production in 7 Points (ADLSRIW)
-CP adds value to the EMS (Environmental Management System): it places emphasis on pollution prevention rather than control, with clear improvement in environmental performance.
-CP does not deny or impede growth but insists that growth can be ecologically sustainable.
-CP is not limited only to manufacturing industries of a certain type or size, it can be applied towards the provision of services also.
-CP includes safety and protection of health.
-CP emphasizes risk reduction.
-CP improves immediate efficiency as well as long-term efficacy.
-CP is Win-Win-Win factor: it benefits the environment, communities and businesses.
What are the benefits for industrials ? in cp
(PLCWWISPI)

> CP reduces waste treatment and disposal costs
> CP can be integrated with the business EMS
> CP saves costs on raw material, energy and water
