Epistaxis = profuse - both nostrils + bleeding site cannot be identified on speculum examination - Dx? What to do?
Admit:
- kids < ?yr #pathology
- ?
- comorbidities = ?
- ?
- -Leaning forward = decreases BF through nasopharynx
- minimize blood swallowing @pharynx.
- After 10-15mins:
- Bleed STILL continue = ?
- Bleed stop = ? - Avoid what? Apply what? - PCR? ENT reg do what?

Posterior Bleed - ADMIT
Admit:
- kids < 2yr #pathology
- bleeding dx/haem-malig
- comorbidities = HTN/CAD
- Hippocratic Method
-Lean forward
-Open-Mouth-Breathing*
-Pinch the cartilaginous (soft) part of the nose
#10-15mins
- -Leaning forward = decreases BF through nasopharynx
- minimize blood swallowing @pharynx.
2. After 10-15mins: Bleed STILL continue = A+E Bleed stop = Self-care: -Avoid Picking/Valsalva/Hot-drinks -Naseptin / Mupirocin @peanut/soya allergy
- Packing for <2d @cautery fail OR can’t see bleed-point #RapidRhino
- Cautery @bleed-point seen
- Rigid nasoendoscopy +/- Floseal
- Reg = sphenopalatine artery ligation
