1) Augmentin, Need beta lactamase coverage
ABRS, AOM, CAP……..
Strep pneumoniae; 38% adults & 33% kids
H. Influenzae; 36% adults, 32% kids
Hardening of lens - gradual loss of your eyes ability to focus on objects due to normal aging process
Presbyopia
Difficulty with conversation in a noisy environment. A person can hear but cannot understand what is said. This is age-related in loss of the eighth cranial nerve sensitivity, hearing aids help.
Presbycusis
Loss of peripheral vision if Untreated, > 80% of all glaucoma’s, screened with Tonometry, painless and gradual onset of increased intraocular pressure. Txt with topical miotics, beta blocker.
Open angle glaucoma
Onset eye vision change associated with dull pain, tearing, blurred vision, & photophobia. Pupil small, irregular, poor reactive, and smelled chart is 20/30 or 20/80.
Acute uveitis
Causes swelling in the eye lid but is not painful
Chalazion
Bacterial infection of the island but does not cause abscess formation
Blepharitis
Localized infection or inflammation of the eyelid involving hair follicles of the eyelashes. It is painful, erythema toys, localized to the eyelid, may cause edema to the entire eyelid
