Enlightenment
European philosophical movement that started in the 1600s & 1700s that remodeled government gradually, sick of status quo (5 w’s)
State of Nature
A state that existed prior to the organization of societies, where there was no law or order
Social Contract
When individuals gives up freedoms to the government, and in return, the government protects their rights. (Basically deal with the rules, and don’t protest or rally against them)

A philosophical movement that was born out of the scientific revolution (Science and logic should guide society)

When religion was no longer the state of reasoning for nature, and scientific education was implicated more
