Engines EICAS EEC Flashcards
Engines
GE90-115B
Rated at 115,540 lbs Thrust
N1 Rotor consists of
Fan
Low pressure compressor section
Low pressure turbine section
N2 rotor
High pressure compressor section
High pressure turbine section
N1 and N2 rotors are mechanically independent
EGT amber band
Max continuous EGT limit
Turns amber if EGT enters amber band
During takeoff and go around the amber band exceedance indications are inhibited for 5minutes after EGT enters rather amber band
Exceedance of secondary engine indications
Display will display automatically on the lower centre MFD
If lower MFD fails, will come up on compacted MFD upper
Engine EECs
Each engine is monitored and controlled by a dual channel electronic engine controller
Receive info from thrust levers
Thrust modes
TO- Max rated takeoff thrust
TO 1-Fixed derated 1 take off thrust, less than TO thrust
TO 2- FIxed derated 2 TO thrust, a larger derated than TO 1
D-TO- Assumed temp derated TO thrust
DO-TO 1
DO-TO 2
EECs two modes
Normal and alternate
Normal mode
Thrust set based on thrust lever position, the EEC commands the fuel metering unit to adjust fuel flow until actual N1 equals commanded N1
EEC protection
N1 limit
Over speed
Idle modes
Min idle
Approach idle higher thrust
Approach idle automatically selected in flight
Engine anti ice on
Flaps commanded to 25 or greater
C1 or C2 hydraulic demand pump inop and flaps are out of up
Opposite engine bleed air valve is closed
Fault in EEC
Automatically switches to alternate mode (soft alternate mode because the switch is still in the normal positin)
Hard alternate mode
EEC mode switch selected to ALTN mode manually
ENG EEC Mode msg
EICAS MSG
Displays when alternate mode is selected automatically or manually
