Q

What is process of phagocytosis?

A

1) bacterium fits into receptor on phagocyte membrane. (Phagocyte is type of WBC that engulfs)
2) phagocyte extends its cytoplasm to engulf the bacterium
3) lysosome that containers lysozyme enzymes bind with and digest bacterium absorbed by phagocyte
4) useful substances absorbed from vesicle into cytoplasm. Unabsorbed material expelled by exocytosis
