Endocrine system Flashcards
Endocrine system
sends signals by passing hormones through the bloodstream. secreted through glands in the brain
Glands
Organs in the body that secrete chemicals
Hormones
Chemical messengers that must bind to a receptor to send their signal. Slower to effect but last longer. Some hormones are chemically identical to neurotransmitters.
