Most common in type 1 diabetes.
The body can’t use sugar as a fuel source because there is little to none insulin.
Fat is used as a fuel source instead. Ketones builds up in body
What are kussmaul respirations?
“Biting” the air to get a breath
What is hyperglycemic crysis
•Hyperglycemic crisis (diabetic coma) is a state of unconsciousness resulting from: –Ketoacidosis –Hyperglycemia –Dehydration –Excess blood glucose
