(acidosis <7.35)

-signs of shock: tachy, n/v, abdominal pain, deep respirations (Kussmaul), acetone odor breath, mental status

  • treat with sodium bicarbonate
  • continue insulin until you close anion gap which resolves the ketosis and acidosis
